Created by a father and son team, this brand new co-op Airlock Arena, you can team up with up to three friends and embark on an interstellar survival mission unlike any other – and you’ll only need one Steam copy to do so.
Just like any other outlaw, the main objective is to make money. As you head off to do so, you’ll find yourself encountering seemingly never ending issues. Suddenly you’ve got hordes of aliens attacking your ship on one side, the hull needs repairing on the other side, your supposed trusted teammate has just misstepped and been sucked out of the airlock – it just never seems to end.

This hectic, fast-paced adventure will leave you wanting more every time, and thanks to procedurally generated levels, you could, in theory, play forever. No two runs will ever be the same.
Heavily inspired by the ever-iconic FTL, Airlock Arena combines its classic spaceship simulation elements with the never ending nature of Spelunky. Similar to both, as seen in the trailer above, Airlock Arena is a 2D game, played in a top-down fashion, perfect for those who are nostalgic for simple yet beautiful 2D graphics. Even dragging a friend’s corpse along looks pretty cool, I have to it.
If you dare to play with friends, be warned: you’ll need exceptional levels of teamwork and bravery to survive Airlock Arena’s many threats. While you tackle five aliens at once, your teammate may be off ignoring you, so ask yourself the question: is that really someone you want to explore space with?
Airlock Arena is available on Steam right now, and thanks to an introductory offer you can pick it up for just $9.59 / £7.99. You can also the demo if you just want to dip your toes in without the commitment.
